New York City's, Trisha Brown Dance Company has presented the work of its
legendary artistic director for more than 40 years.  Branching out from the
experimental Judson Dance Theater to work with her own group of dances,
TBDC offered its first performances at alternative sites in Manhattan's
Soho district.  From those experimental beginnings, to the finest
performance spaces in the world, Ms. Brown is often revered as a visionary
in the modern dance field for her artistic visual collaborations, risk
taking and humor within choreography!



In 2011, Ms. Brown was awarded the New York Dance and Performance 'Bessie'
Lifetime Achievement Award as well as the prestigious Dorothy and Lillian
Gish Prize for making an "outstanding contribution to the beauty of the
world and to mankind's enjoyment and understanding of life." Ms. Brown
announced her retirement last year, making this year, the company's final
main stage tour.
