*SOLON CENTER FOR THE ARTS ANNOUNCES THE WINNERS OF THE SIXTH ANNUAL SCA
PLAYWRITING COMPETITION*



Solon Center for the Arts is proud to announce the winners of the Sixth
Annual SCA Playwriting Competition. This competition presented students,
grades 7 through 12, with the opportunity to submit original pieces of
drama to be considered for potential production at SCA in the spring of
2014. Judges Kristina Ferencie and Bob Abelman have selected first, second
and third place winners from the authors who submitted scripts.



Those students whose work was recognized are:

·         First Place: *The Lunch Rush *by Zoe Drasner of Solon

·         Second Place: *The Uncreatives* by Annie Roman of Chagrin Falls

·         Third Place: *It Can Wait* by Megan Lebowitz of Solon



These original works will be presented this May as part of SCA's Sixth
Annual One-Act Festival. They will be performed by SCA's Spotlight Youth
Theater students, grades 5 through 8, and directed by Mr. Dusten Welch.
Those interested in auditioning for the One-Act Festival may sign up for an
audition slot on Tuesday, April 8 or Wednesday, April 9 (6:00 pm - 8:00 pm)
by calling SCA.



            The SCA One-Act Festival will be held on Friday, May 30 and
Saturday, May 31 (7:30 pm), 2014 in the Calvetta Bros. Floor Show Theater
at Solon Center for the Arts. Tickets are $4.00 and can be reserved by
calling (440) 337-1400.
