Possum Dreams is a seriously funny play about a married couple caught in unraveling illusions that have held them together for eighteen years. The play opens with Walter coming home from teaching, distressed because a transsexual student has been flirting with him. It’s a revelation that leads to a intense yet comical battle that tears up the carefully ordered lives of Walter and his wife Jan.

Looking for Female Co-Starring Role:

Jan Landing, Any Ethnicity, Age 40 - 50, Suburban Wife and Mother of 18 year old twins.

The Role of Walter Landing will be played by Andrew Narten.

About the Author:
Ed Falco is a widely published author of short stories and novels. The New York Times has favorably compared Falco’s writing to the work of Raymond Carver and Andre Dubus, and The Notre Dame Review has called him “one of the most powerful short fiction writers of his generation.” His most recent novel, The Family Corleone, has spent several weeks on the New York Times bestseller lists and his audiobook narrated by Bobby Cannavale was ranked a top seller by The Washington Post.
As a playwright, Falco’s work has mostly been produced in and around southwest Virginia, where he teaches in the MFA Program in Creative Writing at Virginia Tech. He has had plays produced at Hampden-Sydney College and Virginia Tech, and in Ensemble Studio Theatre’s Octoberfest reading series in New York. Possum Dreams was read at Urban Stages in New York, directed by Connie Grappo, with, his niece, Edie Falco (Showtime's Nurse Jackie) as Jan Landing, and John Benjamin Hickey (2011 Tony Award Winner in Normal Heart) as Walter Landing.

Director Connie Grappo has described Possum Dreams as “a brilliantly funny, harrowing portrait of a marriage unraveling."
