InsideCPH presents a Clybourne Park Season Extra:

Beneatha's Place by Kwame Kwei-Armah

Monday, April 7th

7:00 PM

Allen Theatre, 1407 Euclid Ave.

Tickets are FREE - RSVP required

The Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning Clybourne Park is playwright Bruce Norris' response to the classic play A Raisin in the Sun. Clybourne, in turn, prompted Beneatha's Place, noted writer-director Kwame Kwei-Armah's response to his perception that Clybourne perpetuates "the connotation… that whites build and blacks destroy." Mirroring the structure of Clybourne Park, but following the restless intellectual Beneatha Younger of A Raisin in the Sun, this new play gives her a new life and path far beyond that iconic Chicago living room, following her from 1959 Nigeria to a career at a California University in 2009.

Join Cleveland Play House and the Clybourne Park cast for a special FREE reading of Kwei-Armah's play, and a post-performance conversation about how we continue to wrestle with race, community and legacy in America.

Tickets are FREE and can be reserved by calling 216-400-7096 or by e-mail at InsideCPH at clevelandplayhouse.com<mailto:InsideCPH at clevelandplayhouse.com>
