CSU's 'Scab' Offers an Intimate, Audacious Look 
at Modern-Day Relationships and Timeless Romance

Romance is not dead -- it has just taken on different forms over the years. Today's generation may be edgier, snarkier, and more promiscuous, but at the end of the day, all they want is someone to care about, and someone to care about them. That is just one of the observations that playwright Sheila Callaghan seems to be making with her contemporary comedy-drama "Scab," currently enjoying a run at Playhouse Square to wrap up Cleveland State University's 2013-'14 season.

New York City-based playwright Callaghan has a unique voice that translates well to today's audiences who were weaned on Facebook and Twitter -- fast and furious, fresh and fun, poetic and profane, and above all, powerfully provocative.
