*News Release: Voices of Canton to host a scholarship benefit luncheon*

Voices of Canton (VOCI) will host a scholarship luncheon on *Saturday, 
May 3 at 12:00pm at Cable Recital Hall in the Cultural Center* for the 
Arts, 1001 Market Ave North, Canton, Ohio. Raffle preview begins at 
11:00am. All proceeds from this luncheon will go to the VOCI Scholarship 
Fund.*

LUNCHEON TICKETS:
*Tickets are $16 per person. All proceeds go to the VOCI Scholarship Fund.

VOCI SCHOLARSHIPS*
Since 1956 (over 55 years), VOCI has awarded vocal music scholarships to 
talented high school and college students pursuing a degree in music 
education or performance, and adults who never pursued a degree in 
music. Proceeds from the luncheon help fund these scholarships for the 
2014-2015 school year. This June, *VOCI will give $5,500 in

**VOCI SCHOLARSHIP AUDITIONS
*Auditions for VOCI scholarships will be held on Sunday, June 8 at 
2:00pm at Cable Recital Hall in the Cultural Center for the Arts, 1001 
Market Ave North, Canton, Ohio. Those wishing to audition must fill out 
an audition form and return it to the VOCI office by June 3, 2014, along 
with a photo and a $25 entry fee. Forms are available at the VOCI 
office, and online at http://www.voicesofcanton.org. No walk-ins will be 
permitted at auditions.

Auditioners must come prepared with one memorized classical art song or 
aria, not to exceed 5 minutes. High School students may not sing 
operatic arias unless they are found in 17th or 18th century Italian 
song collections. They must bring three copies of their music and their 
own accompanist.

*ABOUT VOCI*
Voices of Canton, Inc. (VOCI) has been performing since 1939. VOCI 
consists of more than 80 volunteer singers. VOCI is artistically 
directed by Loren Veigel. Under Veigel's direction, VOCI has sung with 
internationally renowned organist Hector Olivera, raised funds for 
worthy non-profits with "Songs for a Cause," toured to Scotland to 
perform several concerts, to Cleveland to perform the National Anthem at 
a Cleveland Indians game, and in 2013 performed the National Anthem at 
the Pro Football Hall of Fame game.

VOCI's mission is to produce and perform at the highest artistic level a 
wide range of choral music; to provide choral singers with challenging, 
instructive and rewarding opportunities to make music together; and to 
enrich, educate and entertain the community by offering the excitement 
of live performance to diverse audiences in a variety of settings. 
Voices of Canton is funded in part by the Ohio Arts Council and Arts in 
Stark.
