*EVERYONE’S FAVORITE OGRE IS ARRIVING *
*AT THE PLAYERS GUILD THEATRE*



CANTON, OH - *SHREK THE MUSICAL* brings the hilarious story of everyone’s
favorite ogre to dazzling new life on the stage and will close out the
Players Guild’s season.



In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an unseemly
ogre shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey who won’t shut
up, a bad guy with a SHORT temper, a cookie with an attitude, and over a
dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls
for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand...and his name is Shrek. A
show full of all-new songs, big laughs, and great dancing, *SHREK THE
MUSICAL* is part romance, part twisted fairy tale, and all irreverent fun
for everyone!



Presented on the Guild’s Mainstage, *SHREK THE MUSICAL* features a 15 foot
long dragon created specifically for the Guild’s original production, more
than 100 costumes, a live professional orchestra and a 29 person cast.
Additionally, *SHREK THE MUSICAL* includes choreography by Michael Lawrence
Akers, music direction by Steve Parsons, and is directed by Jon Tisevich,
who helmed the critically acclaimed Guild productions of *RAGTIME, OLIVER!,
FIDDLER ON THE ROOF* and *DISNEY’S BEAUTY AND THE BEAST* just to name a few.
Members of the talented *SHREK* cast include:



            Micah Harvey as Shrek



            Brandon Talbert as Donkey



            Brittany Eckstrom as Princess Fiona



            Craig Joseph as Lord Farquaad



SHREK THE MUSICAL is scheduled to open on May 16 and runs through June 1
with performances Fridays at 8:00 pm and Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00 pm.
Tickets for this Mainstage Musical are $25 for adults, $19 for those 17 and
younger, and $23 for seniors. Tickets for all performances may be purchased
online 24 hours a day at www.playersguildtheatre.com or in person at the
Players Guild Box Office, located in the Great Court of the Cultural Center
