Come and 'take a part' in Open Mic Shakespeare, the monthly play reading
and discussion group sponsored by the Cleveland Shakespeare Festival on
Monday, May 5 at 7pm

*Sigh no more, ladies, sigh no more, Men were deceivers ever,One foot in
sea and one on shore,*
*To one thing constant never.*

Shakespeare devised no greater "marriage of true minds" than of the
quarrelsome Beatrice and Benedick, who trade barbs and witticisms,
eventually setting aside their pride and antagonism, learning how to
"suffer love". Meanwhile, the younger couple Hero and Claudio fall victim
to the shallowness of love-at-first-sight and naive jealousy on the eve of
their wedding night. The play is remarkably contemporary-feeling and
remains one of the most popular plays in the canon.

Leave behind any memories you may have of high school English class
drudgery and encounter the work afresh, as it was meant to be experienced -
spoken aloud.

We meet at the Negative Space Gallery and Cafe at the AsianTown Center at E
38th and Superior. Park in lots B or C and come to the second floor of the
building. For more information about this unique space in town, visit
www.thinknegativespace.com

We assign the roles randomly, rotating characters with each act so each
reader gets to read a variety of large and small roles. We'll have a
limited number of copies of the script available, so please bring a copy if
you have one.
