*Broadway Bound Summer Camp at The Players Guild Theatre*

CANTON, OH - The Players Guild Theatre announces its most exciting and
creative summer camp experience to date with this year’s “Broadway Bound”
summer camp. This summer, campers will take on songs from our most beloved
movies and Broadway shows. And with more creativity than you can imagine,
campers will explore staging, make-up, and costuming as they have a hand in
writing and creating their very own variety show.

This year’s new camp format will allow campers to learn and explore all
aspects of the theatre. Not only will they learn how to perform and
audition, they will learn about set design, costuming and make-up. This
year’s camp promises to give the campers a well-rounded look into the world
of theatre while preparing for a camp-ending performance.

In addition to our new camp format, The Players Guild Theatre is excited to
announce two new directors for this year’s program. Chey Schubert, a
graduate of Kent State University, is a retired theatre teacher having
taught at Sandy Valley High School and the Jackson School for the Arts. She
has directed over 30 musicals and plays at the high school and community
levels, and has taught workshops in the Sandy Valley community. Also new
to camp this year is Fred Locker, recently retired Director of Choirs at
Jackson High School. Mr. Locker has also been on staff of the Jackson
School for the Arts summer camps. While at Jackson, he and Mrs. Schubert
worked together to produce many musicals, and they are excited to
collaborate once again.

Camp for 7-9 year olds runs from June 9-20, while camp for ages 10+ runs
from July 14-25. Both camps are 9am-1pm, Monday through Friday. For more
information and how to enroll, please contact Becky DeHart, Director of
Education and Events, at bdehart at playersguildtheatre.com or (330) 453-7619,
extension 502.
