*EXCITING SUMMER YOUTH THEATER EXPERIENCE!*

Summertime is here again! There is no better place to celebrate that than
with a remarkable opportunity to relish the theatrical opportunities
offered at the historic

Lorain Palace Theater! Of course, I mean the Palace Youth Theater (PYT),
marking 37 years as Lorain County's oldest summer theater institute! With
thirty seven years in training singing, dancing, and acting...we know a
thing or two.

At PYT, students don't just learn to sing, act, dance, and understand
various forms of stagecraft, they also become a family. The teamwork,
confidence, and skill building exercises all conform to 2 basic principal:
unity of intention and encouragement of unique expression. Their hearts
become infused into the production, and they walk away feeling a strong
sense of accomplishment, renewed confidence in their artistic uniqueness,
and with a bevy of new friends. This year is going to be a very special
one, as we are performing "The Sound of Music."

Whereas last year, our performance of "42nd Street" saw the entire summer
camp learn to tap dance like pros in just 6 weeks, this year we will still
provide dancing training, but significant training will be dedicated to the
musical aspect of musical theater -- namely, the art of singing. Beside the
same excellent training in acting, stagecraft, and dance, we will be
focusing great energy on teaching our students how to sing well, harmonize,
and understand how to make musical choices for their character. To
implement this, PYT brings on to the staff local voice teachers, musicians
from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, and will even feature a public
master class from Metropolitan Opera veteran Julien Robbins, featuring
select performers from PYT 2014! This year will also add to our ranks a
professional set painter ready to apprentice students in the minutia of
detailing and painting our massive sets. This is all in addition to our
usual lineup of technical theater and acting training.

PYT is the resident artist of the historic Lorain Palace Theater. Built in
1928, this majestic theater boasts a 30 bar fly rack, robotic lighting,
dolby digital surround sound, an orchestra pit, mighty Wurlitzer organ, two
50x20 foot projection screens, luscious art deco architecture, and 1,400
burgundy felt seats. Performing on the Palace stage is an experience like
no other. The performers share the stage where vaudeville's tapping feet
once graced, and some of the best performers have visited, including the
scarecrow from the original Wizard of Oz. Being part of this history is
only part of the experience of the Lorain Palace theater, PYT is a part of
a family where your child will grow and inherit a proud tradition of
artistic excellence.

Since our registration deadline for $300.00 has been extended, please sign
your child up today, as spots are quickly evaporating.

I personally am excited to meet and direct your children through the
rolling landscapes of Austria this summer at PYT.

Let the hills come alive this summer with...

Yours,

-Andrew Lipian

* Unless there is a Palace special event or meeting, I do not usually check
emails or texts on the week-ends. The times I am most likely to respond to
email/texts are Mondays, Thursdays evenings, and Fridays, unless urgency
dictates otherwise.

*Integrity* first, *service* before self, and *excellence* in all I do.
These are the words I live by.
