New Direction Performing Arts Academy is proud to present:
HAIRSPRAY JR
a summer musical theatre intensive

This five-week summer intensive workshop is designed for any student, aged 10-18, who wishes to immerse themselves in the musical theatre experience through work on songs, foundational acting techniques, and choreography, as we mount the northeastern Ohio premiere production of Hairspray Jr. 

Your children will work with a team of the best teaching artists in northeastern Ohio. In addition to their craft, our teachers focus on life skills, such as team building, respecting ourselves and others, self-esteem, responsibility, self-discipline, and helping students recognize their potential for success. This is an opportunity unlike any other in Stark County!

                                           June 23 - July 19, 2014 Umstattd Performing Arts Hall

Technical Theatre Program: Spotlight isn’t for you? We are accepting ten students to participate in a special Technical Theatre Program. These students will work directly with Umstattd Performing Arts Hall’s technical director, Mike Workman. They will learn about set design, scenery construction, lighting/sound design, and will work in a hands-on environment. All Technical Theatre Program applicants should submit an essay explaining why they would like to participate in this program and why we should choose them for this unique opportunity.
