All-City Musical, Bye Bye Birdie

Wildly entertaining, Tony Award winning musical to be produced with students
from Summit County's public and private High Schools

AKRON, Ohio (May 01, 2014) - The Akron Civic Theatre presents the third
annual All-City Musical, the beloved Bye Bye Birdie. The show, which is
presented with support of the Civic's Women's Guild, will run for three
performances on June 14 and 15, 2014.

The 70+ member cast, crew and orchestra for the production will feature

Akron Civic Theatre's executive director, Howard Parr, is thrilled the
All-City is returning for a third year "Hairspray (2012) and Ragtime (2013)
established the All-City Musical as one of the most important parts of
programming mix of local, regional and national attractions. "It's amazing
to see what such a large and diverse group of young people are able to do
when they get the chance to work with a professional artistic team and
venue."

Bye Bye Birdie - The Musical is one of the most captivating musical shows of
our time. It is a satire done with the fondest affection, and tells the
story of a rock and roll singer who is about to be inducted into the army.
An English Teacher, What Did I Ever See in Him?, Put on a Happy Face, One
Boy, A Lot of Livin' to Do, Kids, Rosie and Spanish Rose are musical theatre
classics. This is the tops in imagination and good old fashion fun.

The Akron Civic Theatre Women's Guild is the presenting sponsor of this
year's All-City production of Bye Bye Birdie. Additional support is provided
by PNC, Samuel Reese Willis Foundation, Friends of the Akron School for the
Arts, Maynard Family Foundation, Lyle M. Buckingham Endowment Fund and ECP
Humanities Fund. Other funding is provided by the Ohio Arts Council, the
Akron Community Foundation, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the
GAR Foundation and the Margaret Clarke Morgan Foundation.

Bye Bye Birdie will have three performances: Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 2:30
P.M. & 7:30 P. M., and Sunday, June 15 at 2:30 P.M. Ticket prices are $25,
