AUDITION NOTICE
An Inspector Calls

Auditions: Tues., June 17 & Wed., June 18 at 7:30pm

THE STORY:
A police inspector questions the members of a respectable English family about the suicide of a young acquaintance. It soon becomes apparent that each of them is implicated at some level in the girl’s death. Set in one evening in 1912, this engaging drama is a psychological study of the strange twists of behavior that can surface when people’s consciences are affected.

Characters - 4 men and 3 women    British accent to be decided.
Men:
Arthur Birling - mid 50's, easy manner, provencial in speech, manners.
Eric Birling - mid 20's, uneasy, a bit shy, a bit assertive.
Gerald Croft - 30, well-bred, young man about town.
Inspector Goole - 40's-50's, speaks carefully-weightily, looks hard at people before speaking.
Women:
Sybil Birling - early 50's, Arthur's wife, cold, socially superior.
Shelia Birling- early 20's, daughter, pretty, pleased with life, excited.
Edna- mid 20's-30's, parlor maid, efficient.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Auditions will be held at Clague Playhouse, 1371 Clague Road, Westlake.

Production Dates: September 12 thru October 5, 2014 on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sundays at 2pm.

Please bring an audition photo and résumé.  Auditioners will be asked to do cold readings from the script.  A perusal script is available at the Clague Playhouse Box Office for a $10 deposit through Saturday, June 14, 2014. Box Office hours are Wednesday - Saturday from 1-6pm.
