CLEVE REVIEW: Indelible Impressions of Lost Loved Ones Live On in CPT's 'Left in Ink'

"Left in Ink" is an intense and ambitious theatre project that dramatizes stories from survivors of loss, specifically those who have had to deal with the stark and sudden void left by suicide victims. Unlike any other stage work of recent memory, the piece overlaps heartfelt tributes, emotional revelations, and bittersweet anecdotes together to create an inspiring and encouraging evening of healing reflection.

Creator-director Caitlin Lewins, actress Amy Schwabauer and the ensemble have delicately adapted the script from interviews, photographs, and other materials (with additional text provided by Jane Lewins). However, you would swear that the actors up on stage have gone through the tragic experiences they are sharing with the audience. Each of the five talented performers -- Megan Brautigam, Jeanne Madison, Brett Radke, Jerry Tucker and Schwabauer -- bond together to form a single group, rotating characters in group scenes and supporting each other in soul-baring solo segments.
