Job purpose:
The Director of Choral Studies is a divided role that includes Faculty
responsibilities of course instruction, academic advising, and
curriculum development, while also being the Director of the Choral
Performing Arts program.  The Director of Choral Studies would report to
the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs. The Director of
Choral Studies would collaborate with the Assistant Director of
Enrollment for the Performing Arts in the recruitment and retention
efforts within the Choral Studies Program and would be responsible for
the development, instruction, and programming for the Choral Performing
Arts Program, in conjunction with the Director of Performing Arts.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND TASKS:
The Director of Choral Studies must:
* Direct the Notre Dame College Choir and all choir-related programs *
Develop an implementation plan for a show choir and a cappella ensemble.
* Instruct students in a group setting as well as in lessons/small
ensembles.
* Program Choral concert and event selections.
* Manage the Choral Department budget.
* Teach musicology (i.e., appreciation) and/or theory courses that will
be offered as part of our new Performing Arts Minor.
* Teach "MU" courses as needed and defined by Fine Arts Chairperson, and
assist with Academic Advising for assigned students.
* Assist in recruiting students for the Choral Arts Program.
* Work collaboratively with campus constituencies to build retention
programs within the Choral Arts Program.
* Work collaboratively with the Performing Arts Department on
development, grants, and major gifts initiatives.
* Work non-traditional hours as needed for the execution of Choral Arts
Program initiatives.
* Develop a vision for developing the Choral Arts Program.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
* EDUCATION - Master's Degree
* EXPERIENCE
o Excellent vocal and keyboard skills
o Experience as a Choral Program Director/Instructor
