[NEohioPAL] EVENT: Witness portrayals for murder minitrials

As a public service, the Ohio State Bar Association and the Cleveland State University Law School are cosponsoring free training sessions for newer prosecutors and public defenders.  Nineteen prominent lawyers, judges, and professors are volunteering their services.

 

In the final session on Saturday, August 2, real judges will preside over four minitrials in real courtrooms for a fictional robbery-murder case.  Ten actors and two actresses will receive prior witness statements to support their witness portrayals.  Preparation time is minimal since there is no script.  Each witness will testify for less than thirty minutes in one morning trial and in one afternoon trial 

 

The program lacks funds to compensate these performers, but it will provide for their parking and lunch.  Interested persons should contact the Program Director, Judge Richard Markus at (440) 356-2728 or at judgemarkus1 at cs.com.
