Shaker Arts Council presents
"Dancing in the Woods" with MorrisonDance
Friday, July 18 at 7pm
Nature Center at Shaker Lakes

Shaker Arts Council (SHAC) presents MorrisonDance, one of Northeast Ohio’s pre-eminent contemporary dance ensembles, performing “Dancing in the Woods,” a program of environmentally-themed improvisational vignettes performed in the natural surroundings of the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes. As the summer 2014 performance in SHAC’s At home with the arts (Aha!) series, “Dancing in the Woods” will allow guests to stroll through the Nature Center’s beautiful trails and catch glimpses of “dance conversations” featuring wood nymphs, masked dancers, and other interesting characters.

MorrisonDance has been recognized for its unconventional presentations of the art of movement. For over 15 years, the small and versatile dance ensemble has been presenting new work in Cleveland and have created site-specific works for beaches, converted warehouse spaces, bridges, docks, botanical gardens, community playgrounds and even an icing research tunnel.

SHAC is a volunteer nonprofit organization whose mission is to enrich the cultural fabric of Shaker Heights by establishing the arts as a vibrant and integral part of the community. Its purpose is best described as "building the community through the arts and building the arts through the community."

Tickets are $30 per person which includes a preconcert reception with food and drink at 7:00 pm. The performance begins at 7:45 pm. For online purchases, visit www.shakerartscouncil.org. Checks can be sent to: Shaker Arts Council, PMB 232, 16781 Chagrin Blvd., Shaker Heights, OH, 44120.
