Cleveland Public Theatre presents acclaimed
Israeli physical theatre company
The Visual Theatre of Emanuella Amichai's
"THE NEIGHBOR'S GRIEF IS GREENER"
Onstage October 23-25

Cleveland, OH - Cleveland Public Theatre's Executive Artistic Director Raymond Bobgan is proud to announce a recent addition to the 2014-2015 fall season lineup.

In partnership with the Jewish Federation of Cleveland, CPT will present Israeli physical theatre company The Visual Theatre of Emanuella Amichai's production of The Neighbor's Grief is Greener, a macabre visual performance inspired by 1950s-era music, television and consumer culture. The show combines bold physical theatre, contemporary dance and award-winning* production design to tell the story of three women and a man living together in the sterile setting of an archetypal suburban kitchen. Nostalgic images of Americana are "stretched to the max and then turned upside down in colourful, extraordinary, bombastic fashion" (Heather Caruso, Platform) in a show that has wowed audiences and critics around the world.

The Neighbor's Grief is Greener was awarded "Best Performance" by the 2014 European Committee for Visual Theatre, "Best Actors" by the Valise International Theatre Fest (Poland), along with "Best Choreography & Stage Movement" and "Best Costume Design"* by the Acco International Fringe Festival (Israel).

This event is made possible through The Jewish Federation of Cleveland's Cleveland Israel Arts Connection program, which is the principal sponsor of the event.
