*Legendary DJ Rob Sherwood to spin multi level rooftop dance party*



(CLEVELAND) July 24, 2014 – The Cuyahoga River may have caught fire in
1969, but Cleveland + Akron are preparing to turn up the heat next month to
ablaze all of Northeast Ohio with Gay Games 9 (GG9).



Thousands of athletes, performers, volunteers and spectators from around
the world will descend upon Cleveland + Akron to participate in 30+
sporting and cultural events taking place August 9 – 16, 2014.



Cleveland + Akron will also be buzzing with a myriad of parties and
cultural events throughout the week, including the highly anticipated
*“Recharge
on the Rooftop”* a multi level rooftop dance party taking place on *Thursday,
August 14* (9 p.m. – 3 a.m.). The event is being hosted at the *Velvet Dog*
by Cleveland based printing company Full Color Printings (*GayPrinters.com),
*led by partners *Mike Brunstedt* and *Jeff Blazek. *An LGBT certified
business, Full Color Printings is a full service printing company and a
proud sponsor of Gay Games 9 along with the Velvet Dog.



Brunstedt and Blazek have signed on legendary Cleveland DJ *Rob Sherwood*
to command all three floors with his unique style and mix of house and
electronic music sure to make the *Velvet Dog* the place to be on the night
of Thursday, August 14!



Rob Sherwood became a legend in the Cleveland nightlife by spinning in the
1980s and 1990s at former hot spots such as *Aquilon, Smart Bar,* *the
Lift,* and many raves and after-hours parties.


*“Recharge on the Rooftop”* is happening on *Thursday, August* *14* (9 p.m.
– 3 a.m.) at the
*Velvet Dog, 1280 W. 6th Street *in Downtown Cleveland. A *social mixer*
hosted by *First Tuesday,* a Cleveland group, will happen from *7 p.m. – 9
p.m.* All members and straight supporters of the LGBTQI community are
welcome.

ABOUT THE GAY GAMES CLEVELAND

Launched in 1982 and held every four years, the Games invite participation
from all athletes regardless of sexual orientation, race, gender, religion
nationality, ethnic origin, political beliefs, athletic or artistic
ability, physical challenge or health status.



GG9, as the Cleveland Games have been called, is easily the most sponsored
event in LGBT history, with 6 civic partners, 165 corporate sponsors, 104
community partners, 10 foundations & over 13,000 individual donor
participants. Cleveland is joining the ranks of San Francisco, New York,
Chicago, Amsterdam, Vancouver, Sydney, and Cologne. It was recently
announced the 2018 Games will be held in Paris.
