LAND OF CLEVE REVIEW: 'The Wedding Singer' Power-Ballads 
Its Way Into the Hearts of Playgoers at Mercury Summer Stock




Director and choreographer Pierre Brault turns the whole evening into one big party -- from the pre-show wedding guests running through the aisles to the confetti cannon at curtain call. He keeps the mood light and lively, makes each scene a showcase for his talented cast, and boldly brings back all the cool and quirky dance moves from the MTV era.

Joining in on the celebration are a great group of local performers. Will Sanborn makes the protagonist Robbie low-key and likable, with a little Sandler thrown in for good measure. Melissa Sills is admirable and adorable as Julia, a modern girl who honestly can't decide which path her heart should follow.

Dan DiCello and Brian Marshall are totally awesome as Robbie's outrageous band mates, and Jimmy Ferko, Dani Apple, Cindi Verbelun and Michelle Ireton each create compelling characters who either help or hinder our sparkle-crossed couple.

The quick-changing ensemble excels in portraying wedding guests, office workers, video icons and '80s celebrities. Cast members include Brandon Murphy, Kelvette Beacham, Haley Tupaz, Abbey Kane, Rachel Irwin, JJ Luster, Nick Baldasare, Rick Harrison, Jonathan Bova, Deidre Davis, Mario Formica, Jason Goldston, Ali Collingwood and Josh Trattner...
