*FALL CLASSES AT GEAUGA LYRIC THEATER GUILD AND ARTS CENTER*

*Drawing with Colored Pencils **…  **2 Sessions *

*Ages: 10-adult       Dates: Session 1: Wednesdays, 8/20-10/8 , 7-9pm

Come enjoy creating new artwork using colored pencils in a fun, relaxing
atmosphere.  Students will learn various techniques and how to apply them
to a variety of subjects.  Students will receive individual attention on
their projects.


*Ready...Set...Go! Improv Class*

*Ages: 12-16      Dates: Mondays & Tuesdays, 9/8 - 9/23, 4-6pm, Performance
9/25 @7pm     Instructor: Angela Miloro-Hansen     Location: Geauga Lyric
Theater      Cost: $70 member, $77 non-member, $5 Material fee*

Do you have what it takes to put on a show with nothing but a pile of
props? See if you do! On the first day the class will be given a pile of
props, costumes and art supplies. Using only these items will create their
own story and rehearse for a performance at the end of the session.
Hilarity is bound to ensue and teamwork and creativity are essential!



*Folktale Favorites for Young Actors*

*Ages: 4-7     Date: Saturdays, 9/13- 10/25, 10am-Noon     Instructor:

The retelling of two folktale favorites, 'Bremen Town Musicians" and "The
Lion and The Mouse" allow budding young actors to explore their creative
talents and learn theater basics. A performance for family and friend will
be held the final week.

Learn music and choreography to be performed at the theater in December.

from the Chardon Senior Center to perform for several audiences.



*Fairy Gardening Teens/Adult*

*Ages: 13 and over     Date: Monday 9/15 7-8pm     Instructor: Karin

Learn about fairies and fairy lore, and then create your own fairy garden
to take home. You will utilize fairy accessories along with terrarium
plants to create a fairy garden in a 14" pot.



*Fairy Gardening for Kids*

*Age: 5-12     Date: Tuesday 9/16  4-6pm      Instructor: Karin Stubler
Location: Geauga Lyric Arts Center*

Learn about fairies and fairy lore, then create your own fairy garden to
take home. You will paint a fairy chair that will be the centerpiece of
your fairy garden, along with plants and other accessories.


*James and The Giant Peach*

*Ages: 10-17*  *Date: Mondays, 10/6-11/17, 4-6pm, Performance 11/17 @ 7pm*

Roald Dahl's classic is perfect for the stage with funny characters and a
suspenseful plot! Everyone will have their own role to play and will learn
basic and intermediate theater techniques; Class will culminate in a
performance for family and friends.



*Home school Drama All Ages: King Arthur*

*Ages: 8-18     Dates: Wednesdays 9/17- 10/22 , 10am to Noon,   Performance
10/22 @ 7pm*

Reunite with friends and make new ones too while putting on a production.
Everyone will have a part and learn acting techniques while rehearsing. A
final performance for family and friends will be on October 22 at 7pm.



*The Curse of the Werewolf Advanced Acting 102*

Penguins, piranhas, gypsies, hunchbacks and werewolves all take part in
this incredibly comedic and spooky play. Everyone will develop a character
and take part in a highly entertaining show! Performance for friends and
family on October 29 at 7:30 pm.

Learn about Geauga history with some fun and spooky tales! Learn
storytelling and stage movement in this fun class. Geared toward

Bah! Humbug! This modern twist on Charles Dickenson's Christmas Carol will
delight and enchant you. This class will teach projection, character design
and basic acting techniques.

Come and journey into the life of Little Orphan Annie as she leaves the
orphanage and warms her way into the heart of Daddy Warbucks. This is a
condensed version that includes song excerpts from all your favorites!
Learn theater basics, projections and vocal techniques.



*Santa Skits for Young Actors*

*Ages: 4-7     Dates: Saturdays, 11/15-12/6, 10am to Noon*

Young actors can learn some theater basics while building their confidence
and skills with the presentation of three short skits; Santa's Salty Soup,
Rudolph's Nose Trouble and The Forgetful Santa. A perfect way to enjoy the
holiday season!  Final performance on last day of class for family and
friends-location TBD.



*Home School Teen: The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes*

*Ages: 12-18     Date: Wednesdays, 11/19-12/17, 10am to Noon, Performance

*Christmas Card Workshop*

*Ages: 5-14     Date: Saturdays, 11/29-12/13, 1-2pm*

*Instructor: Katie Arnold     Location: Geauga Lyric Arts Center      Cost:
$20 members, $22 non-member*
Cards are as fun to make as they are to give away! Learn how to make paper,
design your own "stamps" from drawings and craft unique embellishments.
Each student will create 10 cards and envelopes while enjoying holiday
music and candy canes
