“Dearly Beloved” Audition Announcement

 

Stow Players announces auditions for the uproarious comedy, “Dearly
Beloved,” by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten.

 

Audition Dates:  Sunday, August 24, and Monday, August 25, 2014 at 7 pm in
the Community Room of the Stow Acme FreshMarket, 4445 Kent Rd., Stow.

 

Production dates:  November 7,8,14,15,16,21,22  2014

 

Roles:  4 Males, 7 Females

 

Character breakdown (please note the age listed is the age of the character,
not necessarily the actor):

 

GENEVA MUSGRAVE – Mid 40s to early 60s.  She is the owner of the local
floral shop/bus depot and a cantankerous busy-bee wedding coordinator.

 

TINA JO/GINA JO DUBBERLY -  20 (this part will be doubled) Twin girls of
Frankie & Dub.  Tina Jo is the brash, wild child bride.  Gina Jo is her
good-natured, shy sister.

 

HONEY RAYE FUTRELLE – 50s going on 30.  A woman of a certain age, married
multiple times and entering the change of life.  Think Blanche Devereaux
meets Flo from “Alice” type.

 

FRANKIE FUTRELLE DUBBERLY – She carries a large secret as she plans her
daughter’s antebellum themed wedding while conversing with her dead mother.

 

DUB DUBBERLY – 40-45.  Dub is a good ol’ boy that’s just trying to stay the
heck out of the way of all the crazy women in his life.

 

TWINK FUTRELLE – 40-45.  Twink is the youngest Futrelle sister wanting
desperately to get hitched to Wiley Hicks while attempting to cater her
niece’s reception with less-than-excellent results.  She’s a little rough
around the edges.  

 

NELDA LIGHTFOOT – Any age.  The town’s local psychic.

 

JUSTIN WAVERLY – 20 to 25.  He works as a delivery boy for a well-known
brown shipping company while attending seminary.

 

JOHN CURTIS BUNTNER – 40-45.  He is Dub’s best friend and local Highway
Patrolman.

 

WILEY HICKS – 35-40.  Twink’s long-suffering fiancée.

 

PATSY PRICE – 45-50.  A well-to-do local High Society woman, and Tina Jo’s
future mother-in-law.  She carries a disdain for the Dubberly/Futrelle clan.

 

Auditions will consist of cold readings.  Perusal scripts are available at
the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library.

Please bring a headshot and resume if available, as well as any known
conflicts, to auditions.  Conflicts made after casting may result in the
recasting of the role.  

Rehearsals are scheduled to begin September 7, 2014, and will generally run
Sunday through Thursday evenings.
