The Little Theatre of Tuscarawas County will be holding auditions for the

“We are excited to be presenting in partnership with the Little Theatre
this American classic in October”, exclaims Mike Morelli, general manager
of the Performing Arts Center at KSU Tusc. This is our first joint effort
with this exciting arts organization and we are looking forward to an
incredible evening of drama.” The Crucible is also a part of the Class
Acts season at the PAC this year which provides performances to area
schools and will be presented Wed Oct 29 at 12:30.

Don Irven is directing The Crucible. “We are thrilled to be presenting this
timeless classic drama as the opening of our 2014 season,” states Irven.
He most recently directed A Christmas Story last season at the Little
Theatre as well as directing the one act A Sure Thing last fall at KSU.
The Crucible is a dramatized and partially fictionalized story of the Salem
witch trials that took place during 1692 and 1693. The story draws on the
culture of fear and paranoia caused by rapid accusations of witchcraft.
Written in 1953 by Miller, it won the Tony award for best play. The story
also became a 1996 movie starring Daniel Day Lewis and it was most recently
revived on Broadway in 2002 starring Liam Neeson. The play is studied and
taught in high schools across the country.

The cast consists of 10 men, 5 women and 5-9 girls. Readings will be from
the script. Call backs will be Wed. August 20 at 7pm.
