announces auditions for:

Blithe Spirit

Audition Dates
Monday/Tuesday, August 18 & 19, 2014 - 6:30 pm
Callbacks by invitation only - Wednesday, August 20, 2014, 6:30 pm

Requirements:
Appointments Needed -small groups every 15 minutes.
Prepare a one-minute monologue
Come prepared to read from the script

Casting Information:
ALL roles are available.
No AEA contracts available for this production.
Needed:
5 adult women (various ages) will cast with the group dynamic of auditioners in mind
2 adult men (various ages) will cast with the group dynamic of auditioners in mind

Rehearsals Start:  Tuesday, September 2, 2014
Rehearsals will be Mon-Thu 6:30-9:30 pm & Sundays (time TBD)

Performance Dates: October 10-26, 2014 -
Evening performances 7:30 pm; matinee performances 2:00 pm
in the Corning Auditorium.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
There is a 1:00 Senior Citizen Matinee
Wednesday, October 22, 2014.

About the show:
The smash comedy hit of the London and Broadway stages, this much-revived classic from the playwright of Private Lives offers up fussy, cantankerous novelist Charles Condomine, re-married but haunted (literally) by the ghost of his late first wife, the clever and insistent Elvira who is called up by a visiting "happy medium", one Madame Arcati. As the (worldly and un-) personalities clash, Charles' current wife Ruth is accidentally killed, "passes over", joins Elvira and the two "blithe spirits" haunt the hapless Charles into perpetuity.
