CITY BALLET OF CLEVELAND ANNOUNCES ANNUAL NUTCRACKER AUDITIONS



(Cleveland, OH)- The City Ballet of Cleveland, formerly Cleveland City
Dance Company will be holding its annual “Uniquely Cleveland Nutcracker”
audition on Saturday September 13th from 2:30pm-5:00pm.  The City Ballet of
Cleveland (CBC) audition is open to all area ballet dancers ages 8 and
older.  Dancers auditioning for pointe roles should wear their pointe shoes
to audition for roles including Act I Snow and Act II Waltz of the Flowers.
Adult roles are available for the new Party Scene set in a historic
Cleveland home. Potential dancers do not need to be students at Cleveland
City Dance. Students must continue to take their dance classes with their
local school during the rehearsal process.



The Company Artistic and Executive Director, Courtney J. Laves-Mearini,
Ballet Master Mark Otloski, CWRU Professor Shannon Sterne will be
conducting the audition.  The performances scheduled for the weekend of
December 6-7 at Cuyahoga Community College’s Eastern Campus in Cleveland
are funded through the support of Cuyahoga Arts & Culture and Ohio Arts
Council. A pre-registration form should be submitted by Thursday, September
