"THE SEVEN YEAR ITCH" at Cassidy Theatre


When modern audiences think of The Seven Year Itch, they think of one thing -- Marilyn Monroe's skirt blowing up over a subway grate. Regrettably, the stage version on which the feature film was based does not include that famous scene (although this production does showcase a flowing white dress). Luckily, in the Cassidy Theatre revival directed by Jenna Messina, the girl who plays The Girl -- actress Madeline Krucek -- is just as delightfully disarming as Miss Monroe, with comic timing and sex appeal to spare. Be warned! By the play's end, you will fall desperately in love with Miss Krucek...

"THE GOBLINS WILL GIT YOU" at Lantern Theatre


Seeing a show presented by the Lantern Theatre is as refreshing and invigorating as the breeze that blows through the barn in which they perform. Director Bill Hoffman and his castmates impressively pull triple-duty as performers -- acting, singing, and playing the musical accompaniment.
