Heights Youth Theatre Announces Auditions for



*Disney's Aladdin Jr. - **directed & choreographed by Treva Offutt  & music
directed by Joanna Li*



Auditions open to anyone in grades 1-12:



*Tuesday, September 2  **- open call beginning at 5:00 pm, must be there by
7:30 pm to be seen*



*Wednesday, September 3 - open call beginning at 5:00 pm, must be there
by 7:30 pm to be seen*



*During this time, you may choose just to sing or dance or you may choose
to do both as well as read sides for a speaking part. (Please note on your
audition form if you have any special dance or gymnastic experience.)*

*Callbacks - by invitation only on Thursday, September 4th*

*Casting Information: *



All roles are available. HYT is committed to non-traditional
casting.  Actors will be cast solely on the basis of talent, except in
cases where age, race or physical ability is essential to a role.



*WHAT TO PREPARE:*


*Grades 6-12 *

1.     One selection in the style of the show up to a minute in length (ie-
one verse and one chorus).

2.     Accompanist provided (no acapella singing) Bring complete sheet
music.

3.     Come prepared to move.

*Grades 1-5*


1.  Please learn the following lyrics from Prince Ali  (we will help you
practice a little before you sing alone)

 -  Understanding the words you are singing is a huge bonus.  Parents, we
encourage you to explain the lyrics to your kids before they audition.


* Prince Ali, fabulous he, Ali Ababwa*

*Genuflect, show some respect, down on one knee!*

*Now try your best to stay calm.*

*Brush up your Sunday salaam.*

*Then come and meet his spectacular coterie!*



2. Come prepared to move.



Everyone please bring headshot (black and white or color) or photo (Resume
optional) and *please fill out audition form, found on the website, prior
to coming to audition.*

auditions.*


 Rehearsals begin:  Monday, September 8. Rehearsals will be Mon-Fri,
5:00-8:00 or 8:30 PM. You will not be called every day, only when you are
needed to work. Attendance at ALL tech week rehearsals as well as all
performances is mandatory.



Production Dates:



Friday, October, 17 & 24, 7 PM

Saturday, October 18 & 25, 2 PM

Sunday, 19 & 26, 2 PM
