Beck Center for the Arts Youth Theater, one of the oldest continuously running Youth Theater in the country, will be holding auditions on September 13 & 14, 2014 for the first production of our 66th Anniversary Season:

Mr. Toad's Mad Adventures

Based on The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame
Dramatized by Vera Morris
Directed by Russel Stich

The Story: Toad of Toad Hall is an eccentric but likable chap given to "crazes." His latest craze involves motorcars. Unfortunately, he smashes them up as fast as he gets them. He even steals one for a wild ride over the countryside. Naturally, this gets him into a great deal of trouble. His dear friends Badger, Rat and Mole do their best to help, but their efforts aren't enough, and Toad ends up in prison. When Toad finally meets up with his friends again, they devise a clever scheme to recapture Toad Hall from the weasels in another wild adventure.

Audition/Callback dates: (open to Beck Center students ages 6 to 19*)
Saturday, September 13: 2:30 to 5:30pm
&
Sunday, September 14: 1:00 to 4:00pm
Callbacks: Monday, September 15 from 5:00 to 7:30pm

Starting Wednesday, September 3, you may sign up for a one-hour audition slot at Beck Center Customer Service or by calling 216-521-2540 x10.

*Please note: Youth Theater roles are only eligible to students who will be enrolled in our Fall 2014 semester. Actors do not necessarily need to be enrolled at the time of the auditions, however, participation in the actual production does require Beck Center enrollment. Students do not need to be specifically enrolled in a Theater class at Beck Center to qualify. Students who will be enrolled in a Fall 2014 semester class in Beck Center's Dance, Music and Visual Arts Departments are equally eligible.

Bottom line: if you are accepting a role in the show, you will need to enroll prior to the start of rehearsals. However, classes are already filling up! Any questions, please feel free to contact Jonathan Kronenberger, Associate Director of Theater Education, at 216-521-2540 x27.

Our Fall 2014 catalog is available online at www.beckcenter.org<http://www.beckcenter.org>.

Unlike some other youth theaters, there is NO additional participation fee required beyond enrollment.
