The Dramatists Guild and Cleveland Public Theatre announce a daylong
workshop

*WRITING WRONGS: Teaching Playwriting to Underserved Communities*

*Saturday, Sept. 20, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Cleveland Public Theatre*
*, 6415 Detroit Rd*
Presenters include: Chris Seibert and the theater staff, who annually
organize the Y-Haven Project, STEP (Student Theatre Enrichment Program) and
Brick City Theatre; Lisa Peacock, founder of the Vet Art Project and the
Women Warriors Project; David Peacock, Therapeutic Director of Valor Home,
in Akron ; and Bernadette Scruggs, President of SHOWS (Survivors Helping
Other Women Survive), the group behind "From Breast Cancer to Broadway."
In a day of workshops, participants will hear how specific programs were
launched and learn some of the techniques and exercises that help
non-writers find their voice. Sessions include: "Taking the Fear out of
Writing," "Drama Therapy: Is It Drama, or Is It Therapy?," "Engaging with
Vunerable Populations" and "Acting? It's Easy. What's Your Story?"
 The event is open to Dramatists Guild members and guests, as well as those
involved in related community work. It is FREE, although advance
registration is required. An optional box lunch does carry a modest fee.
