“*The most outrageously funny and dysfunctional family to ever appear on a
stage.*”

*MAKING GOD LAUGH*

*At Actors’ Summit*

Actors’ Summit, Akron’s professional theater, announces the cast for the
first production of its 16th season. *MAKING GOD LAUGH, a comedy of
planners*, will have its first regional production in the sixth floor
theater of Greystone Hall.

The show will have a preview performance on October 9 with the official
opening on Friday night, October 10. *MAKING GOD LAUGH* is currently
scheduled for a 16 performance run, closing on November 2. Performances
are given Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights at 8:00 P.M. and Sundays at
2 PM, and take place at Greystone Hall, in downtown Akron. The show is
appropriate for all ages. A free dessert reception with the cast follows
the opening night performance on Friday, October 10.

*The Play *

*“…a gem of comic relief… this new heartwarming comedy has everything going
for it.” — Chicago Sun-Times*

*MAKING GOD LAUGH* follows one typical American family over the course of
thirty years' worth of holidays. Starting in 1980, Ruthie and Bill's grown
children -- a priest, an aspiring actress, and a former football star --
all return home, where we learn of their plans and dreams as they embark on
their adult lives. The empty-nester parents contend with their own changes,
too, as old family rituals are trotted out and ancient tensions flare up.
As time passes, the family discovers that, despite what we may have in
mind, we often arrive at unexpected destinations.

As Woody Allen once said, "If you want to make God laugh, tell him your
plans..."

*“Making God Laugh has a dramatic and honest story of real people layered
with a hoot of hilarity.”** — Chicago Sun-Times*
