CATS ON BROADWAY
fundraisers are critical in providing funding to enable the agency to maintain
its high standards of professional care and service to clients, helping CATS
“Rebuild Lives and Reunify Families.” Celebrating CATS Silver Anniversary, the
Gala’s presenting sponsor is BakerHostetler, and Emcee will be the city’s
belovedformer Browns Coach and Recovery
Advocate, Sam Rutigliano. Culinarians will
be spoiled with gourmet hors d’oeuvres created by Chef BrandonChrostowskifrom Edwin’s Restaurant, and a three
course meal prepared by CATS’ Chef William Brown. Entertainment for the evening
will include a Broadway themed performance by the Baldwin Wallace Music
Theatre; and music throughout the evening by the critically-acclaimed vocalist,
Helen Welch. There will be a silent auction, raffles, dinner and dancing. Tickets are $75 per person and $140 per
couple and can be purchased online at communityassessment.org.

Sadly, heroin
usage in our community (and throughout the country) has exploded in the past 7
years, with the number of people who died as a result of a heroin overdose
increasing nearly 400%. Since 2007,
fatal drug overdoses have been the leading cause of accidental death in the
State of Ohio. In 2013, this heroin epidemic claimed more
lives in Cuyahoga County
than did homicides. CATS improves the
lives of men and women struggling with heroin and other addictions and mental
illness. For 25 years, the agency has
remained steadfast in its mission of providing high quality, cost-effective,
holistic treatment primarily for men and women returning from or involved in
the criminal justice system. To date,
CATS has served over 34,000 individuals
and their families, with a 78% success rate (defined as those who enter and complete their assigned level of
care).
