THE PLAYERS GUILD ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR
A CHRISTMAS CAROL; THE NEW MUSICAL

The Players Guild Theatre announces upcoming auditions for A CHRISTMAS
CAROL; THE NEW MUSICAL, under the direction of Jonathan Tisevich.

Canton’s beloved and spectacular holiday tradition returns!  Charles
Dickens’ ghostly story of Ebenezer Scrooge and the emotional journey
towards his redemption is told through soul-stirring melodies and a soaring
score by local composer, Steve Parsons and Lyricist, John Popa.  Elaborate
sets and lavish costumes will transport audiences back to Victorian London
as Dickens’ tale fills all with the spirit of Christmas.

Auditions will be held at the Players Guild Theatre located in the Cultural
Center for the Arts, 1001 Market Ave N., on Thursday, October 16 and
Friday, October 17 from 6:30 – 9:30 PM.  All roles are available and
non-traditional casting will be considered for all roles.  Interested
parties should sign up for a time slot by filling out the available online
form at www.playersguildtheatre.com or by leaving a message and including
their name, age, phone number and preferred half-hour time slot with the
Players Guild Theatre Box Office, 330.453.7617.  Those auditioning are
asked to please prepare 32 bars of a musical theatre song that best
features their vocal ability, as well as bring sheet music in the correct
key; an accompanist will be provided.  Additionally, actors are asked to
bring a current headshot and resume (if available, but not required) with
them to their audition.

Callbacks are scheduled to be held on Sunday, October 19 and rehearsals are
scheduled to begin on Sunday, October 26.

The production is scheduled to open on Friday, December 5, 2014 and will
run for three weekends through Sunday, December 21, with Friday
performances at 8:00pm, Saturday performances at 2:00 PM AND 8:00 PM, and
Sunday matinees at 2:00 PM.   Additionally, there are student matinee
performances scheduled for December 9 and 10 at 10:00 AM, and December 16
and 17 at 10:00 AM AND 12:30 PM.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL; THE NEW MUSICAL is generously supported by CSE Federal
