CLEVELAND CITY DANCE PRESENTS



MASTER GRAHAM MODERN CLASS



 



(Cleveland, OH) –Cleveland City Dance is presenting a master Graham modern dance class withShannon Sterne at the Cleveland City Dance studio at Shaker Square on Thursday,November 13 at 6:00- 7:30 p.m.  The classis an intermediate/advance class.



Cost for theworkshop is $20.

Artist’s Bio: Shannon Sterne is a dance artist and teacherspecializing in the application of kinesiology to Graham-based modern dancetechnique. She studied Graham technique with three generations of principaldancers from the Martha Graham Dance Company, and has performed many ofGraham’s
works including Primitive Mysteries, Steps in the Street, andAppalachian Spring. Sterne’s varied dance background also includesperformances of works by George Balanchine, Heinz Poll, Pascal Rioult, DavidRousseve, and Michael Uthoff. Sterne taught integrated ballet and modern danceclasses for
the Dancing Wheels Company, and is regularly invited to teach masterclasses for the University of Akron Dance Institute, the OhioDance Festival,and for various dance schools throughout Ohio. Her choreography has been met with critical acclaimnationwide, notably, at the San Diego International Fringe
Festival, the OhioDanceFestival, and at Cleveland Public Theatre’s annual Pandemonium benefit. An Assistant Professor in the Department of Dance at CaseWestern Reserve University, Sterne teaches courses in dance kinesiology andmodern technique, and is also a consultant with the
department’s DancerWellness Program.
