Come join Duffy Liturgical Dance Company, affectionately known as DuffyLit, as they celebrate 30 years of inspirational movement and song. On Sunday evening, November 16th, they will be putting on a jubilant concert, entitled "FIRE", at University Circle United Methodist Church, located at 107th Street at Chester in University Circle, (the Church of the Holy Oil Can). The performance will last two hours and tickets are $35.00 each or $25.00 in groups of ten.
Led by the incomparable Edna Duffy, this group has been a mainstay in Cleveland's African-American church-going community for a full three decades and has garnered substantial respect in Black churches, White churches and the secular dance community all over Northeast Ohio. DuffyLit's dance classes have been attended by hundreds of adults and children over the decades and indeed some of Edna's former student have gone on to become accomplished professional secular dancers. The anniversary gala in the stunningly beautiful, recently renovated sanctuary of University Circle United Methodist Church promises to be filled with verve, charm and glorious dance and music.
You can listen to a live interview with Edna on Tuesday morning, November 11th, Veteran's Day, on Cleveland's classical radio station, WCLV, 104.9FM at about 9.35 AM. She'll reminisce on 30 years in the business and also speak about highlights of this upcoming celebration: "FIRE".
