Dickens’ Ghostly Tale Returns to the Players Guild for Another Magical Year
CANTON, OH –CSE Federal Credit Union and the Players Guild Theatre are
proud to announce the return of Canton’s beloved holiday tradition, A
CHRISTMAS CAROL.  Adapted from Charles Dickens’ holiday classic, composer
Steve Parsons and Lyricist John Popa have transformed the tale into a
soul-stirring musical.  A CHRISTMAS CAROL tells the story of the lonely
miser Ebenezer Scrooge and his emotional journey towards redemption.
Returning to the role of Scrooge for the fifth year is audience favorite
Donald Jones.  Under the direction of Jonathan Tisevich, director of this
season’s smash hit, SWEENEY TODD,  A CHRISTMAS CAROL features a talented
cast which includes:  Matthew Horning as Bob Cratchit; Amanda Medley as
 Belle; Matthew Heppe as Fred, Scrooge’s nephew; Greg Rininger as the Ghost
of Jacob Marley;  Sarah Marie Young as the Ghost of Christmas Past; Bart
Herman as the Ghost of Christmas Present; and introducing,  Adam Petrosino
as Tiny Tim. The production includes Choreography and staging by Michael
Lawrence Akers, music direction by Steve Parsons, scenic design by Joshua
Erichsen, costume design by Joshua Erichsen and George McCarty, lighting
and sound design by Scott Sutton and flying by ZFX Flying Inc.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL opens on Friday, December 5, 2014, and runs through
December 21, 2014, with performances at 8:00 pm on Friday, 2:00 and 8:00 pm
on Saturday and at 2:00 pm on Sunday.  Individual tickets for the
performances are $25.00 for adults, $19.00 for those 17 and younger and
$23.00 for seniors.  Tickets for all performances may be purchased online
24 hours a day at www.playersguildtheatre.com or in person at the Players
Guild Box Office, located in the Great Court of the Cultural Center for the
Arts, 1001 Market Ave N.  Tickets may also by purchased by phone:

Celebrate the season by joining the Players Guild for a special backstage
tour and costume retrospective available before two of the performances:
 December 12 at 7:00 pm and December 13 at 1:00 pm.  The backstage tour,
led by “Ebenezer Scrooge” himself, will give participants the chance to see
firsthand how the magic of this production comes to life. Additionally, the
history of the production will be witnessed through visual displays and
attendees will have the opportunity to see and touch the ornate details of
the period costumes.  Passes are $10 per person and can be purchased
through the Players Guild Theatre box office.
