*Introduces new*

*Director of Education and Outreach*

Talespinner Children’s Theatre (TCT), 5209 Detroit Ave., Cleveland, Ohio
44102, Executive Artistic Director Alison Garrigan is pleased to introduce
TCT’s new Director of Education and Outreach, Katelyn Cornelius. Ms.
Cornelius steps into the position as current Director of Education and
Outreach, Tania Benites, steps down to pursue other artistic and
educational endeavors.

Ms. Cornelius has worked as an instructor and curriculum planner for TCT
and for such excellent educational venues as the Great Lakes Theater
Actor/Teacher program, among others. During her teaching time with TCT,
she helped develop and implement the pre-school class plan for in-house
education, as well as being integral in the educational outreach tour. She
is also a professional actress and movement specialist who has worked both
at TCT, and at several other theatres in the Cleveland area. Ms. Cornelius
is a graduate of Cleveland State University. Her past work with TCT’s
educational programming has been exemplary, and TCT feels that her
understanding of arts education, intelligence, heart, imagination,
enthusiasm, passion for bringing the arts to children, and background make
her the perfect person to take TCT’s education and outreach programming
into its next exciting phase of growth.

During her tenure with TCT, Ms. Benites instilled a high level of
excellence and understanding in the programs under her direction. She
helped develop and build both in-house education, and an intensive,
vibrant, flexible, and imaginative outreach program that has been received
with great enthusiasm by schools and family groups in the Cleveland area. She
was, and continues to be, a marvelous asset to TCT and its family. While
stepping down from her position as Director of Education and Outreach, Ms.
Benites will be remaining with TCT as a valued member of the touring
company, in a teaching capacity, and as a site-leader for the outreach
program.

TCT feels extraordinarily lucky to have the opportunity to work with both
of these amazing women. While we will miss Ms. Benites in her role as
leader of the Educational and Outreach department, we are thrilled to have
Ms. Cornelius so capably taking over the position and making it her own. We
cannot wait to see what amazing, artistic, educational ideas this vibrant
and energetic young woman will bring to TCT and the children in the
Cleveland area!
