[NEohioPAL] One-Act Play Festival at the Akron School for the Arts on Thursday

Firestone Theatre hosts an annual evening of one-act plays at 7:30 p.m. on
Thursday, January 15, 2015. The One-Act Play Festival is a short evening of
theatre presented in the Linda B. Kersker Auditorium. Admission is $5.00
and is available only at the door.

This year’s festival “No More, Mister Nice Guy” by Jonathan Rand, “Nice
Tie” by Rich Orloff, and “Now We’re Getting Somewhere” by Kristina
Halvorson.

“No More, Mr. Nice Guy” is under the direction of FHS junior Emma Antal. It
features Sheldon Grimes, the nicest guy in town. Unfortunately for Sheldon,
in this town, being a nice guy is prohibited by law. But after a crash
course from a pair of local police detectives and a very special
specialist, Sheldon might just learn to be a jerk fast enough to stay out
of prison. The cast includes freshmen Logan Bennington, Memo Diaz-Capt,
Anna Fields, and Larry Sims. Freshman Dalila Bobgan serves as the show’s
stage manager.

“Nice Tie” is directed by FHS senior Morgan Csejtey. This comedy explores
the story of a woman and man who envision totally different consequences if
she lets him buy her a drink. It features sophomore Jadon Brooks and
freshman Kayla Whitley. Freshman Michael Olesky serves as the plays stage
manager.

“Now We’re Getting Somewhere” is directed by senior Kyla Davis. It tells
the story of a weekly office meeting between three women that takes a turn
for the worse when the boss invites an unwanted guest. It features senior
Jordan Euell as well as freshmen Kayleigh Anthony, Makyia Johnson, and Mya
Wilson. Freshman Memo Diaz-Capt serves as the stage manager
