*THREE SISTERS*

*By Anton Chekhov *

*Directed by Bernadette Clemens*

*June 4 - 21 *

Cleveland Masonic Performing Arts Center

DeMolay Room

3615 Euclid Avenue

Cleveland

THREE SISTERS follows Olga, Masha, and Irina as they struggle to let
go of their past and to shape their future. A domineering
sister-in-law, romance, soldiers, and money all challenge the
Prozorov family’s happiness and unity. With artful depiction of three
very different women, Chekhov fascinates audiences with his ability
to articulate the chaos or peace of a single moment and the comedy of
life’s struggles.

*A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE*

*By Tennessee Williams *

*Directed by Mitchell Fields*

*JULY 16 - AUGUST 2*

Cleveland Masonic Performing Arts Center

DeMolay Room

3615 Euclid Avenue

Cleveland

Blanche DuBois’ sudden arrival at her sister’s residence disrupts the
marital home of Stella & Stanley Kowalski. Against the shadows and
heat of its New Orleans backdrop where “you are practically always
just around the corner... from a tinny piano being played,” this
20th-Century classic erupts with legendary drama. Blanche reaches for
a pathetic, last grasp at happiness. Stanley fights to defend his
territory, and Stella must choose between sister and husband.

*DEATH AND THE MAIDEN*

*By Ariel Dorfman *

*Directed by Katia P. Schwarz *

*SEPT. 17 - OCT. 4*

Kennedy's at Playhouse Square

1501 Euclid Avenue

Cleveland

A democratic age is dawning in an unspecified Latin American country.
When her husband offers hospitality to a stranger, Paulina, haunted by
her past, believes she recognizes their guest’s voice as that of the
man who tortured her 15 years earlier. The 48 hours that follow
radically alter the lives of all three. This 1991 thriller gives
voice to women’s survivorship awareness, and is an unforgettable
three-handed acting triumph. More, it is a stark reminder of the
human rights violations we continue to witness in the world today.
