THE GYNTISH SELF follows the misadventures of mother f*****g uncle s*****g
sh*t kicking no good piece of pig p*****g horse bl****g sh*t head piece of
sh*t...head, Peter Gynt who ruins his best friend's wedding, f***s her, and
then abandons her and their daughter after he fathers a bastard son with a
sewer mutant. This foulmouthed adaptation of Ibsen's Peer Gynt is about
insatiable hungers. It's about selfishness. It's about redemption. Oh, and it's
about bacon. Lots of bacon!

*ABOUT THE PLAYWRIGHT*

PETER J ROTH is a Clevelander and a playwright.  He looks best in blue.



He is the founder of THE MANHATTAN PROJECT
<https://www.facebook.com/TheManhattanProjectClevelandLab?ref=br_tf>, a
theatre lab dedicated to putting something awesome and terrible on the
Cleveland stage.



His writing has appeared numerous times at Bricolage Production Company in
Pittsburgh, including HANK AND BUSTER VS. ORSON WELLES
<http://www.bricolagepgh.org/content/hank-and-buster-vs-orson-welles>, MY
GUARDIAN DEAR and THE DEAD GUY CLUB which also appeared at the Theatre
Masters Festival in Aspen.  His play GANGLIA: INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE
SYMBIOGENESIS kicked off Bricolage’s first In the Raw Festival in 2013 and
it appeared at the Great Plains Theatre Conference the same year.



His screenplay “To Boldly Go” was honored with a 2012 Sloan Screenwriting
Grant.



He holds an MFA in Dramatic Writing from the Carnegie Mellon School of
Drama.
