[NEohioPAL] ArtWorks is Hiring 120 Creative Teens

Are you a rising sophomore, junior, or senior in high school? Are you
interested in creating art and being paid for your work? If this applies to
you or someone you know, read on!


*ArtWorks Summer* is a paid 6 week apprenticeship in the arts available for
students who want to gain valuable 21st Century work skills. Working in a
small group of about 10 apprentices, under the guidance of a master
teaching artist, students will acquire valuable skills like time and
project management, collaboration, professional communication, problem
solving, and critical thinking, through the creation of their own original
art. Additionally, apprentices will participate in workshops addressing
money management; resume writing, and the college application and financial
aid process. Apprentices also have the opportunity to perform and exhibit
their work for family, friends, and the community.

*ArtWorks Summer Fast Facts *

*Time Commitment:* Five days per week, for 6 weeks (9:30AM to 4:00 PM with
some later evenings and Saturdays required)

*Time Frame & Locations:*

Monday-Friday, June 24-August 5 at Tri-C Metro Campus and Cleveland Public
Library

*Transportation:* Participants are responsible for their own transportation
to and from the program.

*Pay:* Apprentices are paid $8.10 per hour for their work during the
program.

*Positions:* Spaces for this opportunity are limited; 120 apprentice
positions are available, so students who are interested in applying are
strongly encouraged to make sure all parts of their application are
complete and received on time.  *The apprentice positions are available for
rising 10th, 11th and 12th grade students.*  Program offerings may include
jazz performance, digital game design, dance, fashion, visual art, theater
and more! *Application deadline is March 27 by 4:00 PM.*
