A new musical, My Heart is the Drum tells the story of Efua Kuti, a young woman whose impending arranged marriage
threatens her lifelong dream of a college education. Guided by her grandmother's spirit, Efua confronts life-threatening dangers and subsequently discovers her true strength. This "beautiful," "electrifying," and "inspired" new musical is a tale of modern Africa
complete with driving rhythms and rich vocal harmonies celebrates the promise within us all.
