A commercial is for a company to make money!

If they can't afford to pay talent for the commercial,they shouldn't make the commercial!!!
Or come up with a different story to sell their product for the commercial that fits within their budget.

Actors,..until "We" stand up for ourselves this kind of stuff is going to continue!!!
Yes,..every beginning actor has to start somewhere,build a resume,get experience. That's what student films,music videos,short films,websieries,Independent films No/Low budget are for.
Heck, Now a days one can shoot a scene with their own phone to 'build a reel'...(with some help so it looks good,professional) Or shot a monolouge for the reel.

But,this,...this is disgusting!!!!
Making money off of people working for free??!!???!! That's what friends and relatives are for! ;)
At least pay people for gas,..or offer food. (The post didn't say 'no snacks' but it may be safe to guess,not)

Again, it's up to us as a community to be willing to accept what happens,or what doesn't.
And let's be clear,...commercials are usually 30-60 seconds long. Is an actor really going to be on screen long enough to have something to add to their reel??

Yes, people have the freedom to make their own choice. At the very least, look at this post as a partial 'wake up' call.
This acting career that you are choosing,...it's in your control. You make out of it what you want.
