[NEohioPAL] Learn the original form of swing dancing from international swing dance champion Valerie Salstrom. Beginner Lindy on Mondays at 7pm

Lindy Hop began in the ballrooms of Harlem in the late 1920s/early 1930s. It is a conglomeration of dances that e immigrants brought over from their native lands—put to what was the latest craze in music--Jazz!

In this class you will learn to master the swing out, the circle, some traveling steps, the inside turn, some side by side moves and a few variations on all of the above. Lindy can be seen in the movies "A League of Their Own", "Swingers", "Malcolm X" and "Swing Kids". Lindy is often featured on TV shows like So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing With The Stars. 

This class is appropriate for students with and without partners of 10 years old and up. We will rotate partners during the lessons. 

These classes will be taught by Get Hep Swing owner and international swing dance champion Valerie Salstrom and long time swing dancer Paul Carryer who is newly transplanted from Michigan

Length: 1 hr.

Time: 7:00 to 8:00 pm.

Date: Mondays, February 23rd until March 23rd, 2015

Location: BCA dance studio (lower level) Course fee: Individual $50, Couple $80.
