Musical** Features Familiar Story with Outstanding Score*

*(Tuesday, November 16, 2015 – Akron, Ohio) – *A popular film is given new
life in *Ghost the Musical *at Firestone High School in March.



The powerful tale of love and devotion throughout time is set to premier on
our stage at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, and at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday,
March 5, Friday, March 6, and Saturday, March 7. A special matinee
performance will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 7:00 p.m. Tickets
to *Ghost the Musical* are $10.00 in advance and $12.00 at the door.
Reserved, VIP tickets are $15.00. Tickets can be purchased at the door on
the night of performance, online at BrownPaperTickets.com, and by mail.
Advanced tickets can be purchased at the school from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00
p.m. starting Monday, March 2, 2015. Consult the Firestone Theatre website

A special spaghetti dinner will be served at 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
between performances on Saturday, March 7, 2015. Tickets for the spaghetti

Adapted from the hit film, *Ghost the Musical* follows Sam and Molly, a
young couple whose connection takes a shocking turn after Sam’s untimely
death. Trapped between two worlds, Sam refuses to leave Molly when he
learns she is in grave danger. Desperate to communicate with her, Sam turns
to a storefront psychic, Oda Mae Brown, who helps him protect Molly and
avenge his death.



The cast of *Ghost the Musical* is led by seniors *Brian Hirsch* (Sam
Wheat), *Hugo Christensen-Diehl* (Carl Brunner), *Christopher Humbert* (Subway
Ghost), and *Michaella Waickman* (Molly Jensen). Other seniors include *Brielle
Burley* (Ortisha), *Jordan Euell* (Hospital Ghost), *Shauna Oldaker* (Mrs.
Santiago), *Abigail Riley* (Det. Biederman), *Abby Van Auken*, and *Sammi
Woodill* (dance captain).

Juniors in the cast include *Emma Antal*, *Olivia Beal*, *DJ Jenkins*
(Clara), *Emily Markuz*, *Claudia Vaccaro*, and *Begine White-Klein*.
Sophomores include *Charles Allgood (Orlando)*, Joe Antal, *Jadon
Brooks*, *Patrick
Fields*, *Josiah Hackett*, *Kaci Lucas*, *Josh Luster*, *Olivia
Nosel,* *Theresa
Stafford*, and *Peter Stauffer*. Freshman in the cast include *Memo
Diaz-Capt (Willie)*, *Anna Fields*, *Haley Gallagher*, *Silas Hackett*, *Kate
Klika*, *Reyna Moran* (Louise), *Sabrina Reed* (Oda Mae Brown), *Mason
Scott* (Lionel Ferguson), *Julia Siegferth*, and *Gracie Thanasiu*.

*Ghost the Musical* is under the direction of *Mark A. Zimmerman* who has
served as the theatre director at the Akron School for the Arts/Firestone
High School since 1995. The creative team for *Ghost the Musical*
includes *Chad
Pittman* (music director), *Marissa Leenhaarts* (choreographer), *Bernie
Williams* (conductor and instrumental director), *Deb Malcolm* (lighting
design), *Randie O. Sass* (costume design), *Christopher Pepe* (sound
design), and *Elynmarie Kazle* (prop design and production management).
Seniors *Morgan Csejtey*, *Kyla Davis*, and *Nalani Rodgers* serve as stage
managers.



Firestone Theatre is the award-winning play-production component of the
Akron School for the Arts housed at Firestone High School. Firestone
Theatre was named an “Outstanding School” by the Educational Theatre
Association in 2013. The curricular track of Firestone Theatre is
accessible to all rising ninth-grade students via open enrollment and a
formal audition. Firestone High School is located at 333 Rampart Avenue,
Akron.
