*AUDITIONS FOR LES MISÉRABLES*



The Players Guild Theatre announces upcoming auditions for the 2014-2015
season closing Mainstage musical, LES MISÉRABLES.  The LES MISÉRABLES
production team includes: Jonathan Tisevich, director; Joshua Erichsen,
Producing Artistic Director; Steve Parsons, Music Director and Michael
Lawrence Akers, Choreographer.



Winner of over 100 international awards and seen by over 65 million people
worldwide, LES MISÉRABLES sweeps its audience through an epic tale of
broken dreams, passion and redemption. Set in 19th century France against
the backdrop of a nation in the grip of revolution, Jean Valjean seeks a
new life upon his release from years of unjust imprisonment, but is
relentlessly pursued by police inspector Javert for breaking his parole.
Committed to his vow to raise the orphaned Cossette, Valjean leaves his
past behind and is forced to fight for his life as Javert closes in and
insurrection takes hold.  Grand and uplifting, BOUBLIL and SCHÖNBERG’S
musical epic packs an emotional wallop that has thrilled audiences all over
the world!



Auditions will be held at the Players Guild Theatre located in the Cultural
Center for the Arts, 1001 Market Ave N., Canton, on Monday, March 9,
Tuesday, March 10 and Thursday, March 12 from 6:30 – 9:30 PM.  *All roles
are available and non-traditional casting will be considered for all roles*.
Interested parties should sign up for a time slot by filling out the
available online form at www.playersguildtheatre.com or by leaving a
message and including their name, age, phone number and preferred half-hour
time slot with the Players Guild Theatre Box Office, 330.453.7617.  Those
auditioning are asked to please prepare 32 bars of a musical theatre piece
which best showcases their vocal ability as well as sheet music in the
correct key (an accompanist will be provided).  Additionally, actors are
asked to bring a current photo or headshot (and resume if available, but
not required) with them to their audition.



Principal callbacks are scheduled to be held on Wednesday, March 17 and
Thursday, March 18.  First rehearsal is scheduled for Sunday, March 29,
2015.



The production is scheduled to open on Friday, May 15, 2015 and will run
through Sunday May 31, 2015 with Friday and Saturday performances at
8:00pm, and Sunday matinees at 2:00 PM.   Additionally, there are two
student matinee performances scheduled for Wednesday, May 20 and May 27 at
10:00 AM.
