Jamibeth Margolis is now entering her 19th year as a professional casting
director in New York. She was with Johnson-Liff Casting, Cameron
Mackintosh, and Margolis-Seay Casting and is now out on her own as a
freelance casting director. Previous credits include the Broadway and
National Touring Companies of LES MISERABLES, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA,
MISS SAIGON, and CATS as well as many others. Currently casting: SISTAS
(Off-Broadway), BURLESQUE TO BROADWAY (NY and Tour) and many musicals in
development.

A diverse cast of exceptional performers for an upcoming backer’s workshop
presentation of AIDA.

AIDA* - Brave, young Nubian princess of exotic beauty torn between her
secret love for the Egyptian Captain and fighting for her country; a
captivating African-American leading lady with powerful pop belt. Female,
18-30 yrs old. G3-F5. LEAD.



RADAMES* – Sexy, well-built Egyptian captain who falls in forbidden love
with the Nubian princess and dreams of forging his own path in life despite
his seemingly pre-arranged fate; a charming and sincere pop/rock tenor.
Male, 20-30 yrs old. G2-Ab4 (optional A4). LEAD.



AMNERIS* – Beautiful, young Egyptian princess of exotic beauty who
transforms from a beauty-centered fashionista into an intelligent and
powerful leader of Egypt.  Humorous yet vulnerable triple-threat with
strong pop belt. Female, 18-30 yrs old. F3-F5. LEAD.



ZOSER - Father to Radames; manipulative and sinister Egyptian Chief
Minister hungry for power who attempts to poison the Pharaoh; strong rock
tenor of dominating physical presence. Male, 45-55 yrs old. F3-Bb4.
SUPPORTING LEAD.



MEREB – Boyish and mischievous Nubian servant of the Egyptian captain who
is faithful to his Nubian heritage; cleverly uses his position to plot the
escape of the Nubian King; young African-American pop tenor. Male, 15-22
yrs old. G2-Bb4. SUPPORTING LEAD.



AMONASRO – Nubian King and father to Aida who is imprisoned by the Egyptian
army; immovable in his beliefs, he fears his daughter does not understand
the gravity of her relationship with Radames; a strong African-American
actor with an intimidating presence and commanding voice. Male, 45-55 yrs
old. May double in the ensemble. SUPPORTING LEAD.



PHARAOH – Leader of Egypt and father to Amneris; in failing health. Male,
50-60 yrs old. Non-singing. SUPPORTING LEAD.



NEHEBKA – Selfless Nubian slave who reveres the Nubian princess and
ultimately sacrifices her own life to save her; young African-American
triple-threat with strong dancing abilities. Female, 15-22 yrs old. G3-E5.
CHORUS FEATURE.





EGYPTIAN ENSEMBLE – Seeking physically fit and ethnically diverse
triple-threats to play various roles. Strong dancing is a must. Considering
all voice types; high tenors and strong belters a plus.



NUBIAN ENSEMBLE – Seeking African-American triple-threats to play various
roles. Strong dancing is a must. Considering all voice types; strong,
soulful vocalists with broad ranges a plus.

*AEA members and non-AEA members will be seen throughout the day with
priority given to AEA members



Callbacks will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 17-18 (6-10pm both
days) as needed.

interest and availability to ClevelandMusicalCasting at gmail.com



*What to Prepare:*

Please prepare 32 bars of a pop/rock or contemporary musical theater
selection in the style of the show. Bring sheet music in the correct key.
An accompanist will be provided. Please bring a picture and resume stapled
together. There will not be a dance call at the initial auditions.



*Important Note:*

If you cannot attend the auditions but are interested in being considered
for the workshop, please email a private YouTube link showing 32 bars of a
pop/rock or contemporary MT song to ClevelandMusicalCasting at gmail.com by
March 16th. Dancers: dance footage is highly encouraged in addition to
32-bar cut.
