[NEohioPAL] Encore Artists Wanted

Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging recently received a grant from The Cleveland Foundation to engage professional teaching artists age 50 and over who will be specially trained to design and deliver arts programs for older adults. The artists, who may specialize in any art form, will volunteer in host sites that are non-profit organizations serving seniors and located in the City of Cleveland.  The artists will participate in a two-day classroom training program with compensation or complete a free 12-hour online training program.  After training, the artists will be enrolled in the online Encore Artists Registry detailing their professional experience and interest in volunteering at Cleveland host sites.  (There are limited grant funds for artists' supplies and mileage.)  They are asked to commit to delivering at least 48 hours of arts programming during the six months following training.  The purpose of the project is to expand the availability of visual and performing arts activities to older adults currently without or with limited access to the arts.
Artists can register by completing the online form at:  http://www.benrose.org/EncoreArts/Encore-Artists.cfm , or by completing the downloadable enrollment form for artists, and mailing or scanning it to us.  Enrollment will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
