Children of a Lesser God, the acclaimed romantic drama by Mark Medoff, will
play at Akron's Coach House Theatre from March 26 to April 19, 2015.

The story centers on the relationship between James Leeds (JOE PINE), a
gifted young teacher at a school for the deaf, and Sarah Norman (AMANDA
VIGNEAULT). Sarah, who is deaf, at first resists James' unconventional
approach to teaching her to speak aloud, but despite their differences the
two begin to form a powerful connection.

The Broadway production of Children of a Lesser God, which opened in 1980,
won the Tony Awards for Best Play, Best Actor for John Rubenstein as James,
and Best Actress for Phyllis Frelich as Sarah. The 1986 movie received the
Best Actress Academy Award for Marlee Matlin's performance as Sarah.

The Coach House production is directed by the theater's artistic director
TERRY BURGLER. The cast also includes JIM FIPPIN, ADAM VIGNEAULT, and
JULIANA BLISCHAK.
