Dorothy Silver has acted and directed in many area theatres during her career, and most recently performed in ‘NIGHT, MOTHER and THE VELOCITY OF AUTUMN at Beck Center for the Arts, and 4000 MILES at Dobama Theatre. Dorothy has performed across the country and abroad. Past associations include substantial tenures as Resident Guest Director at Karamu Theatre and Director of Theatre and Cultural Arts at Jewish Community Center. Silver’s directing resume includes The Cleveland Play House, Great Lakes Theater, and American Place Theatre in New York City. Among her film credits are The Shawshank Redemption, Love and Other Drugs, and a featured role in Old Fashioned.

Dee Perry began her career at WABQ-AM in 1976 and worked at a number of Cleveland radio stations before moving to Atlanta, GA. When she returned to her hometown in 1989, Dee joined WCPN 90.3 FM Cleveland Public Radio as Morning Edition host, and later hosted her own midday jazz show on 90.3. In 1996 Dee stepped into a new spotlight as host and Senior Producer for the arts and culture program Around Noon, today known as The Sound of Applause. That spotlight expanded following the creation of Ideastream in 2001, when Dee also became host and Managing Producer of the arts and culture TV show Applause on WVIZ/PBS. Dee has logged more than 10,000 interviews with artists from every walk of life, and it is her great honor to continue sharing the processes and productions of arts and culture icons, like Dorothy Silver, with audiences at large.

Mamaí Theatre Company was co-founded in 2010 by Bernadette Clemens, Wendy Kriss, Christine McBurney, and Derdriu Ring. Mamaí (pronounced Mah' may) is the Gaelic word for “mother.” Four working mothers, theatre artists, colleagues, and friends arrived at a place where it was time to create opportunities for themselves and their community. “Don’t wait to create” became the inspiration for Mamaí Theatre Company. Our mission is to create intelligent, relevant classical and contemporary theatre that offers an artistic home for Cleveland's theatre artists, and equal opportunity for women in the professional theatre community.
