“The Return” (2003)
This is a widely acclaimed and award-winning movie, including a Golden
Globe Nomination for Best Foreign Language Film.
Andrey and Ivan are brothers who have been raised alone by their mother.
When their father suddenly returns home after vanishing some 12 years
earlier, they are both extremely happy to see him back in their lives.
Ivan, however, quickly grows suspicious of his father, and determines to
find out where exactly his father vanished to all those years ago, and why
he suddenly decided to come back into their lives now.
This film is not rated but contains adult themes.

Wednesday, April 15, 7 p.m., Room H-101
“My Joy” (2010)
An award-winning film that received five stars from The New York Times
critic Manohla Dargis.
This is a very dark and scathing portrayal of Russian life in which the
main character, Georgy, takes a journey on a road trip and ends up trapped
in a remote village frozen in time, where strangers are not welcome, and
people are not at all what they seem.
This film is not rated, but it is intense and contains very adult themes.
